"IMPRINTED" Selections from Myrtle Press at Transmission Gallery in Oakland, Ca
April 2nd - May 22nd
curated by Ruth Santee, Dixie Laws and TaVee Lee
This grouping of work is by an artist affiliation of print makers including the teacher Summer Ventis as well as a close friend Genesis "the Mayor" The works very a wide range of work. mostly worked within the size of les than 24 x 36 inches and largely muted in color with the exception to the rule being genesis who made a large and much more colorful and hazy piece of work which was granted the whole back wall due to its size and uniqueness. the Mayors piece has commentary about isolation, its creation was the first week of the pandemic after its announcement, and seems to break the horizon line creating a floating composition that makes us feel as though we might be viewing a singular experience from a lucid dream state, above. or even wrapped in layer of our own realm.
